Let’s see how my legs are doing! - Cristiano Ronaldo speaks out on prospect of playing alongside his own son as Al-Nassr star urged to follow LeBron James

Cristiano Ronaldo did not completely brush aside the possibility of playing alongside his own son at Al-Nassr despite being 39 years old.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The intriguing possibility arose during a recent interview on his YouTube channel, UR Cristiano, where Ronaldo engaged in a lively discussion with YouTube sensation MrBeast. Drawing parallels to NBA star LeBron James, who shares the same court with his son Bronny, 20, MrBeast asked Ronaldo if a similar scenario could unfold on the football field.

WHAT RONALDO SAID

Mr Beast asked: "It’s crazy how LeBron is not playing with his son, are you making to make that happen in the football world?"

"Maybe, I’ll see. He is 14 now," Ronaldo responded.

Mr Beast suggested: "Maybe get him to play when he’s 17, so you’d have to play for three more years."

"Let’s see, let’s see how my legs are doing, we’ll see," Ronaldo added.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Cristiano Jr., now 14, has already shown glimpses of inheriting his father's footballing prowess. Earlier this year, a video of him scoring a spectacular curling free-kick into the top corner during training captured attention. Another notable moment came when he netted a headed goal for Al-Nassr’s academy in a move reminiscent of his father’s iconic leaping headers.

DID YOU KNOW?

The young talent has had an impressive journey so far, training with renowned academies such as Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United, all clubs where Ronaldo himself left an indelible mark. Following Ronaldo’s high-profile transfer to Al-Nassr in early 2023, Cristiano Jr. joined the Saudi club's academy, taking another step toward a promising career.

WHAT NEXT FOR RONALDO?

While the possibility of sharing the field with his son excites fans, Ronaldo remains realistic about the physical demands of professional football. Reflecting on his future, the Portuguese icon admitted earlier this month that his retirement might not be far away.

"I just want to enjoy [myself]," Ronaldo said. "Plan for retirement? If it has to happen, in one or two years... I don't know. I'm turning 40 soon. I really want to enjoy, as long as I feel motivated I keep going. The day I don't feel motivated, I will retire."

He will be back in action against Al-Qadsiyah on Friday in the Saudi Pro League.
